Concept and Construction

The parts involved
Here are the parts of both Mephiston and Astorath after they arrived at the studio.
The client want's the converted Mephiston to be in a hovering pose using his psychic might to keep him aloft.
This would involve using Astorath's body to give the hovering pose but using Mephiston's top half to keep his arms, weapons and psychic hood to keep the original look.

Completed Build
Both Astorath and Mephiston were cut in half and then attached together. Mephiston's cloak was also hollowed out using an Industrial Grinder before attaching that to him aswell.
The skull lining of Mephiston's cloak was then resculpted with greenstuff aswell as resculpting any details that had been damaged in the cutting process and filling any gaps..
The scroll work from Astorath was then attached to the resin base, heated and bent slightly to fit more snugly and then Mephiston was attached to it.
